
The data centre facility presented one of the most challenging acoustic environments Con-form Group had encountered, with extensive rows of chillers operating continuously and producing significantly higher noise levels than typical commercial HVAC installations. The 24/7 operation schedule meant that noise mitigation was critical for compliance with local regulations and neighbouring property considerations.
The project required a delicate balance between maximum noise reduction and essential equipment ventilation, as the chillers needed continuous airflow for optimal performance. The scale of the installation, spanning over a kilometre of perimeter materials, demanded ultra-lightweight construction to avoid structural modifications to the existing building. Additionally, maintenance teams required safe and efficient access to service the extensive chiller arrays without compromising the acoustic integrity of the screening system.
Con-form Group deployed a sophisticated combination of acoustic solutions, utilising Acoustic+ Ultra Wall for maximum noise reduction in solid barrier areas and Acoustic+ LouvreWall where equipment ventilation was essential. The Ultra Wall system provided industry-leading NRC performance of 1.05, while the LouvreWall delivered the same acoustic performance with critical airflow capacity.
The integrated platform system combined EasyMech MR for metal roof purlin-mount areas, EasyMech CR for concrete sections, and Span+ for long-span rafter-mount requirements. Raised Walkways were strategically positioned to provide maintenance teams with safe, efficient access to all chiller units while maintaining the acoustic envelope's integrity. The ultra-lightweight design across all components ensured the massive deck could span the entire roof space without requiring structural building modifications.
